How to update a Vietnamese and English website

A checklist for bilingual website updates covering content, prices, images, links and approvals.

Check both languages when information changes

When services, prices or contact details change, it is easy to update the Vietnamese page and forget the English one. Visitors may then receive different information. A simple tracking list helps prevent this.

List the page pairs

Create a sheet with the content name, Vietnamese URL, English URL, editor and review date. Each page should have a corresponding page. URL wording can differ, but the language switch should open the matching content.

For example, a visitor reading a service in Vietnamese should see that service in English after switching, rather than return to the homepage.

Prepare shared facts before writing

Record details that must match: service name, audience, included work, price, conditions and contact channel. Use this list for both versions. Wording can differ to sound natural, but the meaning should remain the same.

When using a translator, provide product context and any terms your business wants to retain. Avoid sending isolated sentences without the surrounding page.

Check the details often missed

  • Page title and introduction.
  • Service names, prices and units.
  • Buttons, menus and frequently asked questions.
  • Text in images and image descriptions.
  • Titles and descriptions that may appear in search.
  • Email addresses, phone numbers and links.

When an important condition changes, look for articles and other pages that mention it. Updating only the main service page may leave conflicting information elsewhere.

Assign a reviewer and record the update

One person should check consistency before publishing. A finished translation is not necessarily approved information. Use clear statuses such as “editing”, “awaiting review” and “published” in your tracking sheet.

When requesting a website update, specify the page, section and replacement text. Include the English version or request translation pricing if needed.

Open the pages after publication

Check on a phone and a computer. Read titles, switch languages, test contact links and open related articles. If you see older information, ask the person responsible to verify the update rather than assuming success or failure.

The technical owner should check language tags, canonical addresses and links between language versions. You do not need to edit code yourself if this is part of the agreed technical work.

Keep the previous copy

Record the date, change and approver. Previous versions help restore information after a mistake. Agree how to request support if the current editor leaves or changes responsibilities.

View website services or request an update if you need help.
